The Housing Choice Voucher Program (Section 8 Vouchers)
The Housing Choice Voucher program is the federal government’s primary program for assisting very low-income families, the elderly, and the disabled to afford decent, safe, and accessible housing in the private market. A family issued a housing voucher is responsible for finding a suitable housing unit of the family’s choice in the community of their choice, where the owner agrees to rent under the program. Our waiting list prioritizes homelessness, disability, and/or survivors of domestic violence.
Our Waiting List is Currently Closed. If you are currently on our list, it is EXTREMELY IMPORTANT to change your mailing address, phone number, and status (should you become homeless, disabled, or experience domestic violence). You can call for one of these short change forms.
VASH Vouchers for Veterans
In 2013, the Division of Housing selected Housing Solutions to administer newly created housing vouchers specifically for veterans, called Veterans Affairs Supportive Housing (VASH) vouchers, which were recently approved for this area.
