Espero Apartments

…because housing is hope

40 units of Supportive Housing in Durango located on property at 1051 Avenida del Sol

This is the first property in Durango built exclusively to serve those who earn 30% AMI and below, have been homeless, and are living with a disabling condition. The first residents moved in late October 2021.

Supportive Housing is housing with additional supports onsite to help people remain housed and access the services they need including healthcare, behavioral health, food, financial benefits, career development, education, and socialization. Supportive housing is NOT: a group home, a shelter, transitional housing, or a care facility. People must sign a lease and be able to live independently.  However, people are offered many supports to be successful long-term in their homes.

Housing Solutions for the Southwest is partnering with BlueLine Development to build this project. The capital for this project came through the award of Low-Income Tax Credits from CHFA and grant funding from the Colorado Division of Housing. In addition, AXIS Health System and Manna Soup Kitchen provide services onsite in partnership with the Housing Solutions Team.

We are especially grateful to those who invested in our capacity to make this project a reality!
